Even though all of us dream to have a Cinderella love story, all our relationships do not end in the way that we want. Having a long-term-relationship in this decade has almost become impossible as love has become something that is all about money, dates, gifts, and selfies. However, for all those people who are disappointed in true love, we are going to show a beautiful love story and the best thing is that this love story is from Hollywood.
Hollywood is famous for having romance on screen but not in the real lives of actors. But the love story of Sam Elliot and Katharine Ross has lasted over 35 years and how it all began is truly beautiful.
Elliot is now 74 years old and Ross is 79 years old. They first met on the set of the horror movie The Legacy which was shot in London.

Elliot had met Ross earlier when he was playing a small role in Butch Cassidy almost a decade before. Speaking to AARP The Magazine, he told that “I didn’t dare try to talk to her then. She was the leading lady. I was a shadow on the wall, a glorified extra in a bar scene.”

Ross was five years older than Elliot and was married to her fourth husband back then. In 1979 she divorced her then-husband and married Elliot in 1984. They also had their daughter Cleo Rose on the same year.

The loving couple is still sharing the same bond after all these years and in 2017, both of them acted together for the film The Hero, about an aging western film icon.

Speaking about their relationship, Ross said that “Sometimes that’s easier than real life. You’re [sic] got a script. You’ve got a part. You’ve got your creative juices flowing together. It’s not about the dirty dishes in the sink or whether you’ve picked something up at the laundry. …”

Adding to this Elliot also said “We have a common sensibility, but we also work at being together. You work past the s–t; you don’t walk away from it. That’s how relationships last.”

Speaking to San Francisco Chronicle, Elliot told “What makes a marriage work is a mutual love and mutual respect. There are peaks and valleys like everything else, but you have to push on.”
