Zhenya came across a photograph of a wild sable online and immediately fell head-over-heels in love with this beautiful creature. She then developed an interest in learning about sables. Apparently, sables are known for their silky fur, which is one of the most expensive furs in the whole world. Their fur comes in different hues ranging from beige to black.
The demand for sable fur is increasing in Russia and around 70 farms in the country kill these animals to procure fur and produce bedspreads. Zhenya soon learned that this was also the sad fate of the sable in the image she found online. The poor creature was to be murdered in cold blood to serve as someone else’s commodity.

Zhenya sprang into action and was determined to do her part as an animal rescuer. She wanted to help the innocent creature in any way possible. Further investigation regarding this matter revealed that she could buy the sable from the particular fur farm and that is exactly what this human did.

She succeeded in saving the sable from certain death. “She would have died there, so I decided to save the little fella,” Zhenya conveyed. The human and her pet sable are now living together quite happily. However, it was no easy task for the human to bond with the sable at first because the sable, Umora, had a difficult personality.

Living on the fur farm and witnessing all the brutal deaths taking place around her had impacted her deeply and transformed her into an emotional and hysterical creature. Umora is also playful, cheeky, active, smart, and enjoys stealing stuff. According to Zhenya, it is no easy task to keep a sable as a pet. “One has to go through a lot before they can start living with it comfortably,” she expressed.

Patience and time are of great significance since it takes years for a sable to adjust to a new setting and fully open up. In the case of Zhenya, her efforts have finally paid off as she and Umora now share a strong bond with each other. Have a look at the photographs of the duo for they are sure to warm your heart.
