Note To Self: It’s Okay Not To Be Okay

I know you might be having a tough time. Perhaps you might have issues in your jobs. Your boss might be scary and you would not feel like going to a job again unless for the salary. On the other hand, you might be having issues in your relationship. When you commit to your family, your partner might feel bad and you will suffer in the middle of all this chaos. 

Even if this exactly is not the situation with you, this is for you if you are having a bad time. You should keep in your mind that everyone is having a bad time in some days. Every day it will not be the same and that is why it is important to acknowledge the worries and miseries and face them with a brave face.

So, it’s okay to say that you are not okay. Yeah, you heard it right. Your feelings and emotions are valid.

Actually, it took me a lot of time to understand this fact. Whenever I had some problem I used to suppress my emotions and push them aside. I never felt comfortable to let out my emotions because I thought that others would laugh at me or get mad at me. But whenever I try to push my feelings down, I never feel completely easy and I understood that it only delayed the explosion.

But now I know hiding our emotions is not a good thing at all. If you are not okay, it’s okay to say so.

The life that we lead in this modern society is not something easy. We have to dedicate our time for studies, family issues, financial issues, and relationship issues and all of these things are having their own complexities.

So, at the end of the day, things might not go in your way and you will not be okay.

You should not try to mask your emotions and feel bad inside. You can challenge and defeat your anger, sorrows, and disappointments only by acknowledging them and leaving them out in a healthier way.

It is totally okay to feel negative emotions; those negative emotions balance out our positive ones.

We are usually grown up in an environment where crying and shouting is branded as bad behaviors. We try to suppress what we feel because we think that if we let those emotions out, others will look down upon us. But you must know that it is okay to cry and to be angry. Having negative emotions is not a sign of weakness but a sign of being a human. It’s okay not to be okay.

You may feel that you are the only one who is having all these issues. You may say that there is no end to your pain and that your life is a living hell. But the only way out of your pain is through it. I know it sucks. But that is the best option available for you. you will be a lot stronger when you come out of that and you will no longer be afraid to face any pain.

It’s okay to be in pain; no one expects you to be happy all the time.

Don’t think that what you see in the mainstream is always right and correct. No one post selfies of their worse moments on Facebook. So, live the life you have and try not to compare yourself with others.

If you are having a hard time, try to talk to your friends and let your feelings go out. It’s totally fine not to feel okay. Just take time and recover.

Take care of yourself the best way you know how. You know yourself better than anyone.
