Dear Ex, You Made Me Realize That, I Deserve Better. Thank You.

Have you ever been in a situation where it looks like all of your friends are getting married and the entire world is in a serious relationship while the greatest achievement in your life is going to the gym for two weeks straight?

Yeah? Same here.

It may sound sad to some, but the truth is, it is not. Not being dependent on anyone is a sign of strength. It gives you freedom. You realize this if and when you get out of a toxic relationship.

When you rescue yourself from someone’s life-controlling behavior, you finally have the time to reconnect with your true self.

Do not feel bad about not being in a relationship. Be happy about not having to put up with someone’s almost-unbearable narcissistic behavior.

Once you rid yourself of the pain and the sadness someone caused you, it is time for you to build yourself from scratch. Yes, it is going to be hard, but you are going to rise from the ashes like a phoenix does. And you will be grateful to the person who made you see how much you were missing out on. The person you thought you would spend the rest of your life with is the person who made you see people for who they really are.

Thanks to your ex, you are now on the right path towards making your dreams come true.

You were brave enough to get out of all the drama, gaslighting, and emotional trauma. Now you need time to heal, and you have to do it on your own. That is why being single is important. You are on a mission with yourself.

Now you have time to appreciate little things about you. Now you have time to build a relationship with yourself. Now you have time to love yourself. And loving yourself is the very first step. And most importantly, when there is no one to hold you down, there is nothing you cannot achieve, you can grow like you never imagined.

So, say “Thank you!”  to your ex.

They are the ones who made you see the reality. They made you see what you were missing on. Even though they treated you disrespectfully, they taught you that you should never allow anyone to treat you like that again.

Be grateful to them because they made you stronger.  They stopped you from making the biggest mistake of your life.

So dear ex, thank you for making my life miserable.

You were the one who made me realize that I am worthy of love. You opened my eyes, you made me see that I am worthy of love, that I deserve better. And for that, thank you!
