If you are keen on birds, you would probably know a lot about various kinds of birds. They are of different colours, living in different places and thanks to the skills of photographers, recently we were blessed to witness several kinds of birds on the internet.

So, we thought of sharing some details about another beautiful variety that is commonly found in jungle clearings, gardens, and open meadows. These are the strawberry flinches who are also commonly known by the name red avadat or red munia. They love to be around tall grasses near water but you need to be a very good observer to spot them because they are extremely tiny and about four inches long.

One of the most wonderful things about these birds is that the colour of their plumage changes in their breeding season. They inherit a scarlet and a bright plumage speckled with white dots and the dull brown colour in their plumage changes in the breeding season. The red colour of the male bird’s feathers increases in their breeding season and when we consider the females a distinct orangey-yellow colour can be observed in their downside. A colour change can also be noted in the beaks of both males and females.
