None of us are born equal there are many people who daily fight with different physical and mental disorders. However, those disabilities might not be visible to strangers who do not have seen or known these people earlier and therefore, there is more chance for these people to face many difficulties in their daily existence.

Natalie Bell is a mom from Victoria, Australia who owns a business called ‘Personalised by Nat’. she creates personalized items where she creates many customized products for parents and children. She was deeply worried over the idea what would happen to her daughter Shae if their car gets into an accident and there was no one to inform doctors about kid’s health issues. It was not good for little Shae to have an MRI as she had a cochlear implant and based on this she developed an idea to create simple Velcro seat belt covers with clear bold letters informing about the kid’s health issue.

Australian mom created these seat belt covers to warn emergency services about children’s health issues.

She posted a Facebook post with the caption:

“I always wonder what would happen if I was in a car accident with my daughter in the car and I was unable to let the doctors know that my daughter could not have an MRI due to having a cochlear implant, now I don’t need to worry about that with these seat belt covers. These can be made for any special needs that the medical team will need to know if you are unable to tell them.”

The covers can be attached to seat belts or even be used on backpack straps with ease. Although Shae is deaf and her cover indicates that, Natalie also various covers for various health issues which include autism, diabetes, down syndrome, with some covers indicating that a child is non-verbal or may resist help.

Bell says that although medical bracelets that most of the people with health issues wear are useful, they often get covered up by clothes. That’s why her seat belt covers stand out and make it clear for anyone approaching, especially considering that in case of an accident, the first people to respond and help might not be medical professionals.
