Giving birth to a child is one of the most beautiful and prestigious things a woman can ever experience. But, we all know that it is not an easy thing. Bearing the kid in the womb for 9 months and finally giving the birth cause several difficulties for mom. In this period, a woman may come across several new terms and one such is the word ‘dilation’.
The word dilation suggests a widening, a swelling, an engorging of bodily fluids to facilitate the smooth passage of something into or out of the human body. during the labor, the midwife always tells the mother updates on the status of the cervix dilation. The mother can have an idea of how far the process is coming along. During the process, the vagina dilates from 1 cm – 10 cm, which is the size of a bagel. You can see how the changes are taking place according to this ‘dilation chart’.
