Dear Mom, It’s Because Of You That I Know What Love Is

By. Ran

Remember how you used to go to school holding your mother’s hand? And how you hated your mother coming to pick you up as you grew older? What do you think about this now?

When we are young and immature, we cannot truly appreciate all the love and care our mothers invest in us. We think that they’re just some grumpy adults who don’t like fun.

But as we grow older, as we learn what life is, we begin to understand our mothers. We realize how and why every piece of advice they gave was on a pint. We understand that whatever they did, they did it for our sake.

We begin to appreciate the fact that they are the ones who kissed our knees when we fell down while playing. They are the ones who stayed up all night when we were sick.

A mother is the first person to acknowledge her children’s talents and encourage them to never stop chasing their dreams. She is the one who showed us the right path to follow. She encouraged us to pursue our passions and become the best versions of ourselves.

And if you know what love is, it is because of her. She is the first one who loved you unconditionally. She is the one who supported you no matter what, and she will continue to do so. She is the one who engrained all those valuable qualities like empathy and kindness in you. She is the one who gifted you with beautiful moral values such as respect, compassion, generosity, honesty, and integrity.

She neglected herself so that she can take care of you. She did everything to make sure that you had an amazing childhood.

And you can’t deny that your mother is the strongest person you know.

Everyone else’s happiness comes before her wants. She keeps the balance in the family. She never shows that she too gets hurt. She always hides her feelings so well so that others do not have to worry about her. She never lets anyone see the troubles she had and the hardships she had to go through, just to make her family happy.

And that is why you should take time to appreciate your mom. She was your first friend, she is your all-time best friend, and she will always be your forever friend. And whatever journey you have to embark on in life, she will be right next to you. She always has your back. And she will love you deeply, genuinely, and unconditionally.

Dear Mom,

Thank you for being my pillar of strength. Thank you for all the unconditional love and support. Thank you for helping me become the person I am today.
