7 Things An Aunt Wants Their Beloved Niece To Know

By. Ran

The relationship between an aunt and a niece is a pretty special one unparalleled to any other relationship. Often, the aunt is much more than just an aunt. She is, at times, a mom, a close friend, a big sister. You can talk with her, tell her anything, laugh with her and share everything with her.  More importantly, she gives you the best advice. Here are seven things that every aunt wants their nieces to know.

#1. You can talk to me about anything.

No matter what happens, you can always talk to me. I will always listen to you and tell you what I think. I will not judge. Once I was your age and I know exactly how you feel. And most importantly, your parents need not know.

#2. I will never let you forget how much I love you.

I mean it. My love for you is unconditional and you are like one of my own children to me. I will never stop loving you no matter what you do. You will always have a pretty special place in my heart.

#3. I know more about life than you might think.

Often you feel that adults cannot relate to you. I understand this feeling. Once I felt the same way too. But let me tell you, I understand the situation you are in more than you think I do. I feel your pain, I feel your happiness. I also relate to what you are going through. And this is the truth.

#4. Life is short, enjoy it.

This life will be over before you know it. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. You have to smile while you still have teeth, and I will do everything in my power to help you enjoy life to the fullest.

#5. Do whatever makes you happy.

As long as no one is hurt by what you are doing, you can and should do whatever you want. It does not matter what path you take. Even if you go to Africa and do charity, I will support you all the way. No matter what you choose, I will back you up.

#6. No matter what, I am here for you.

No matter what you do, right or wrong, you will always have me. When you need a place to crash, when you need a shoulder to cry on, you always got me. Never forget that.

#7. Never be afraid to be yourself.

Never feel like you have to be someone else. You can be you without pretending.  You are you, and that is more than enough.
