Photographer Captures Two Penguins Overlooking The Melbourne Skyline Together

Love can come in different shapes and forms as made apparent through the story we bring to you today. Tobias Baumgaertner, who is an Australian photographer, shared an image online depicting two widowed penguins looking over the Melbourne skyline. This rare and stunning photograph received so much positive feedback and it didn’t take long for the shot to go viral.

The two widowed penguins appeared to be looking out for and comforting each other as they were both suffering from losses. The manner in which they were hugging captures their empathetic side. It demonstrates that animals too are considerate. The image was captured in 2019 during the pandemic and according to Tobias, “During times like this, the truly lucky ones are those that can be with the person/people they love most.”

Apparently, the white penguin was an elderly lady who had lost her partner while the younger male on the left had also lost his. “They meet regularly comforting each other and standing together for hours watching the dancing lights of the nearby city,” Tobias conveyed. This dedicated photographer spent three nights observing this penguin colony until he managed to capture the perfect image.

Tobias was excited to share this image on Instagram so the rest of the world could witness this heartwarming moment. “I hope you enjoy this moment as much as I did,” his caption on Instagram read. These two lovebirds found love during a least expected moment and interestingly it is the pain that they shared that brought them together. The way which they cared for one another during a time of need is indeed beautiful and we as humans have so much to learn from these two loving souls.
