Japan is a country well-known for its beauty as well as its thriving economy. However, now Japan is also popular due to the first-ever cat temple located in Kyoto. The name of the temple is ‘Nyan Nyan Ji’, which translates to ‘Meow Meow Temple’. The monks at the temple are none other than cats.
The temple was opened in 2016 and currently, there are seven cats working in the temple. Koyuki is the head monk and she loves to interact with the devotees that visit the sacred grounds. Toru Kaya is the individual who came up with the idea to create this entire temple dedicated to cats. The temple even has a souvenir shop and a cafe with cat-themed food.
