Kindness can come in many different forms. Your age, race, social status or anything else will not really matter if you need to be good to someone. All that matters is the goodness of the heart and now we are going to tell you the story of a young boy who proved that age will just be a number when you have a big heart.
Darius Brown is a 12-year-old young boy from New Jersey who lead an initiative to help the animals kept in shelter homes. We all know that most of these shelter animals find it really hard to find a good home for them and some of them never get a chance to share their life with a loving family. So, the little Darius wanted to help these poor animals to find a good home soon and he thought of making handmade stylish bow ties for cats and dogs to make them more attractive and get the attention of future owners.

Darius himself has a very inspiring story. At the age of 2, he was diagnosed with speech comprehension and fine motor skill delay but none of these things could stop him from becoming the great person he is. At the age of 8, he started helping his older sister cut fabric for bows and it indirectly helped him to develop his motor skills.

Little by little, he did many experiments with his creativity and at the age of 11, he founded a pet couture company called ‘Beaux & Paws’ specializing in unique and stylish bow ties for people and their furry family members. He donates countless bow ties to animal shelters and adoption centers across the USA and United Kingdom. Now, he has over 43k followers on Instagram.

He basically needed to help animals after the devastating consequences of Hurricane Harvey and Irma in 2017. Because of the disaster, many animals were left without their owners and they were sent to shelters around the country. However, most of them end up facing euthanasia due to lack of owners. So, Darius wanted to make these cats and dogs more attractive so that they would catch the eyes of the potential caretakers.

Even though Darius is only 12, he has done many things by now. His story has been featured in many publications and TV shows as well as recognized by many public figures, celebrities, and influencers, including Allen Houston, Kenya Moore, Les Brown and many more. In 2018, former president Barrack Obama honored Darius with a letter of recognition in which he commended the young altruist for commitment to community service, “From founding Beaux and Paws to lifting up the lives of those around you, it’s clear you are doing your part to look out for your fellow citizens. And I trust you take tremendous pride in all you have accomplished. As long as you stay engaged in the world around you, continue looking for ways to help others and never give up on yourself, I’m confident our future will be bright.”

And without a doubt, many more to come if he continues his genuine journey. Brown already speaks at events encouraging others to volunteer and give back to the community.

Darius Brown’s sister, Dazhai, has recently launched a fundraising campaign inviting people to join Darius in his PAW-some mission to save more pets this summer. He set a goal of visiting more than 5 states to volunteer at different shelters and adoption centers as well as providing them with his dapper bow ties.
