One of the things that pops into your head when you hear of the country Australia is kangaroos. These creatures have managed to win over the locals as well as tourists. However, since there is a large number of kangaroos in Australia these animals also have a tendency to meet with accidents due to collisions with cars. In December 2023, owing to one such accident a baby kangaroo lost her mother. Fortunately, the motherless joey was given a second chance at life as Tiffany Banton and her family came to her rescue. The baby kangaroo even managed to form an everlasting bond with the family doggo named Hazel.
The joey was discovered in Stars Road and named Stars due to that reason. After her mother was hit by a car a SeaLink bus driver contacted Tiffany informing her about this incident. She arrived at the scene as soon as possible and did not hesitate to provide the baby kangaroo with a home as she owned a wildlife sanctuary for little rescued orphaned animals. Caring for Star was also difficult as she required special food to bottle-feed and an electric blanket to replace the warmth of a mother kangaroo’s pouch. Even Tiffany’s daughter, Maggie took on responsibility to ensure that the baby kangaroo was properly cared for.
Despite all this care, it was the family pup Hazel that managed to capture Star’s heart. A friendship blossomed between the two and they were inseparable. The doggo and baby kangaroo sleep and even cuddle together. “They’ve grown up together, and their bond is lovely. I think this is literally the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life!” Tiffany expressed.
The human shares videos of the interactions that take place between Star and Hazel on her social media. The videos depict the doggo giving the baby kangaroo gentle kisses and the both of them keeping each other warm with hugs. People were moved by the connection that the two share and were appreciative of Tiffany coming to Star’s rescue. Though Star will eventually return to the wild, Hazel will always hold a special place in her heart.
